What is corvus rome?

Corvus is a Latin word that means "crow" or "raven." In ancient Rome, the corvus was a military apparatus that was used in naval battles. It was essentially a large, spear-tipped plank with a curved end, used to board enemy ships. The corvus was developed during the First Punic War against Carthage (264-241 BCE) and was a hugely innovative and successful invention. During the rest of the war, it helped the Roman navy to achieve several victories against their Carthaginian rivals. However, it was eventually abandoned due to its unwieldy nature, which made it difficult to manoeuvre in high seas.
